In the last 10 years significant progress
has been made in time-compression; now the scope is widening to include
tooling and the entire development process. This results in an ever-
increasing range of options both in terms of processes, capabilities and
suppliers.
This is further compounded by the design
sequence that continues to get more and more involved, requiring the
designer to be an expert in many independent fields. The need is
therefore for a knowledge base that is reliable and tuned to customer
requirements.
